Blog not in my global dashboard.
-
I have a word press blog i created through my web host host gator. My admin panel in host gator has a setting to create a word press blog with your own domain quick and easy. So I created a blog, made my first post, everything seems fine. Until, I wanted to add the subscription widget to my blog. Its not there…along with lot of other stuff in my dashboard. When I log in to view my blog, I do it by going to my blog clicking on log in under a section called meta with the user name admin. It seems there is no email address associated with this accounts log in. I found that all the other widgets and add ons can be found in this global dashboard. Since my email wasn’t already associated with it, I signed up for an account. But I dont know how to get the blog Ive already created to be able to edit under this global dashboard I signed up for. Since they are 2 usernames. Keep in mind the blog doesn’t seem to have a user name besides admin and no global dashboard…just a dashboard. They look similar but the global offers more features. I’m lost here. Please help!

You are confusing wordpress.COM with a self-hosted blog (at hostgator). They are not connected in anyway, and some of the features that are offered here at the wordpress.COM hosting service are not built into the self-hosted version.
The easiest thing to do is to sign up with Google/Feedburner and then use their email subscription service.
Also, support for self-hosted blogs using the wordpress software is at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ .
