And if you do not appear, it will be because you are using too tags/cats per post. We have a limit to stop tag spamming. So you may want to consider more carefully just which tags you want to your posts to appear under.

that was a unique post for wrapping up an entire year, obviously.

Here’s what happens:
I get several complaints that a blog address AND a blog name are appearing on the main tags page.
I find that blog is actually gaming the tags system by doing this. People are probably clicking the tag with the url simply to see what on earth the blog is, not because they are genuinely interested in what is being posted about. So I mark the blog so it does not appear in the tags. I mark the blog so it cannot game the system.People like and use the tags page because it leads to topics. They do not use it because it leads to blogs.
The tags page are for every one of the 2 million bloggers here. Not just one. It will not be gamed and action will be taken to stop it. If everyone started to use their blog url and blog name as categories and tags then the tags page would be ruined. A page that creates traffic for thousands of blogs would become a mess and one that people kept messing with just to get more hits. This will not happen.
If you choose to have many tags on a post you will not appear in tags lists. That has been the case for ages – others will support this. So having 50 tags is up to you. Consider though that if people see a blog in the ‘knitting’ tags and it is not about knitting you WILL get a complaint about you sent to me. And that complaint would be justified. Tags should be targeted and considered. Either way, too many = no list appearance.
Pasting long lists in here and sending dozens of TOS reports is annoying and does not help your cause and does not mean I will change what I am doing.
The tags pages are extremely important to everyone here and will not be gamed.

I’m not gaming anything. I was using dissfunktional just like the way I said I was using it! It’s not a “game”. The word “Uncategorized” doesn’t work for me, as it doesn’t work for any of the other 40 plus blogs I showed you. Dissfunktional does. That’s the topic of my blog. Dysfunktional crap. That is how I categorize my posts. It’s not a game. My posts are serious and it’s NOT a game. I don’t know how to game stuff anyhow. I post on criminals and murder and politics and taxes and stuff. Gaming wordpress is not my interest.

The net result was that httpdissfunktionalwordpresscom appeared in the tags pages.
I doubt anyone else would agree that this is okay, which is why I acted and why I advised the above.
