blog not showing up in topic
-
I have tried to get the blog to show up on the tag pages that I select and it doesn’t happen, therefore my blog is getting little or no exposure. other than hitting Publish after it is assembled what am i doing wrong? I’ve even taken the blog off and put it back on. Does this have something to do with AOL?
-
Not as far as I know. What might be happening is you might be using the Autopost function; for some reason, things you autopost don’t show up on tag pages until you go in and edit the blog posts. No idea why.
-
Do you have a wordpress.com blog? I ask because the one linked to your name does not appear to be a wordpress.com theme. If you have downloaded your theme from http://wordpress.org then you are posting to the wrong forum. We run of different software at wordpress.com and the correct forum for those who do not have blogs that are free hosted by wordpress.com is http://wordpress.org/support

My blog address is http:/onlymoments.wordpress.com so I don’t understand how I could be posting to the wrong blog.
to raincoaster-what is the “autopost” I merely click publish on the “write” page, is there another way to publish it?
-
Autopost means you change the timestamp so it posts later, rather than going up right away.
Can you give us an example of a post you made which isn’t showing on the proper tag page? Put the link in here in its entirety, starting with http.

Your wordpress.com username is linked to a commercial blog. Please change that and link it to your wordpress.com blog so when you are posting to this forum we know which blog you are referring to and can click your username and see it.
-> Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile
look down the right hand column and locate “Website”
remove the url that’s there now and insert http://onlymoments.wordpress.com/ in its place
then click “Update Profile” to save.Raincoaster was referring to the ability we have to create posts ahead of time and have them published on a future date. It does not appear that you are doing that.
I see your “The Ghost of Christmas Past” on the wordpress.com tag pages. Example: http://wordpress.com/tag/holiday-rituals/ Are you aware that the posts on the tag pages are filed by date/timestamp and that as there are so many posting your posts will be rapidli superceded by the most recent posts submitted to the tag pages? I think the reason you are not finding your posts is because you are only looking on the first or top page of the global tag pages.
HTH :)

The tags pages are chronological by date (newest at the top), and sometimes it takes an hour or so for them to show up. In the popular tags categories with a lot of posts, you might have to hit the “previous” button quite a few times to find your post.
One of your posts shows up here: http://wordpress.com/tag/nick-oliva/
The one on Christmas and the origin of Santa Claus shows up here: http://wordpress.com/tag/ramblings/5/
-
On the santa claus post, it’s at the bottom of the page. If it’s not their when you look, hit the previous button and see if it’s on the next page. As more posts are added to that category, yours will move down on the list.

I changed my profile timethief and thank you thesacredpath I see they made my latest post a featured blog. The funny thing is that it worked sometime immediately and sometimes not at all. I know it chronological but sometime methink the gremlins lurk within
Thanks to you all and have a Great Christmas and Happy New Year!

Just as an example of how quickly your posts can move down, in one less popular category I posted in, a few hours after I posted I was on page 1 toward the bottom. A few days later, I was on page 15 if memory serves me right. If you post in a very popular category, such as art, you might be on page 15 or 20 after only a day or two. -
@onlymoments
You’re welcome and Happy Solstice to you too. :)@tsp
Indeed. Posts in seasonal categories get buried very quickly. :)
