Blog not showing up on Search Engines

  My blog was once set up to be private and I changed it…however, it is not showing up on ANY search engines.
  Also, it received 240 hits in 3 days without anyone seeing it…???
  Finally, I can’t add the social media button…is it because it is an outdated (simplistic) blog format?
