Blog not working correctly

Dear WordPress, please help me…..
my blog “chriswebbifa” should have the Twitter feed showing down the right hand side of teh page however recently this has stopped working and just says “twitter is not responding”.
This is getting frustrating, I have spent hours trying to rectify the problem and unable to do so.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
It looks like you’re using the old Twitter widget. We now have the Twitter Timeline widget which is available on your widget page. If you switch over to using that, it should work just fine for you!

Have tried that and still cant get it to work. To be fair im disappointed that after paying for a yearly subscription through wordpress the “widget” stops working and now there is a new one……why ??? Worked fine before !!!
Doesn’t seem to be any support to help fix these kind of issues, rather than stating a new “widget” is available……

The old widget used Twitter’s old API. Twitter rolled out a new API which they required we go through an approval process before we could roll it out. It necessitated that we have two widgets at the same time, the old one which was using the original access protocols (which have now been shut off) and the new one.
Please note while you’re setting up the newer widget that there are some instructions contained in the widget itself. You have to give permission within your Twitter account for it to work, and the account information which you enter is not your Twitter handle, but rather an account identifier which you get from within your Twitter account. I would assist in setting it up, but it requires access to your Twitter account which I don’t have.

So unless you know what your doing then there’s pretty much no hope !

Yes, as I mentioned before there are instructions in the Twitter Timeline widget itself:
You need to create a widget at Twitter.com, and then enter your widget id (the long number found in the URL of your widget’s config page) in the field below. Read more.
