Blog on wp.com with domain purchased from wp.com, how do I transfer to BlueHost?

    Hello,

    Probably you have seen this question multiple times, but when I went through all the related forum posts, I didn’t get a satisfactory answer. So please help me out.

    I opened a free blog with wordpress.com. Then I purchased the domain name from WP itself. I have an account with BlueHost and want to transfer this blog to BlueHost. Kindly tell me the steps I will have to follow to do that…I am donot have much knowledge about this, so please explain in detail.

    You can keep the domain registered here and simply use the domain management section in your dashboard and change the nameserver information over to the bluehost.

    If you want to transfer the domain registration over to another site such as bluehost or whatever, you cannot do that for 60 days after you bought the domain name. That is an ICANN rule (the domain name authority for the internet), not a wordpress rule. There isn’t really much reason to transfer the registration over though and it would cost money to do that.

    You would then have to transfer any posts and such over from your blog here to the new blog: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

    Keep the blog here (since your domain registration is tied to it) and set it to private after transferring everything over by going to settings > privacy. There really

    I have done the nameserver thing but my domain still won’t show correctly. what is the deal??? Kayseven.net is what my blog is and i host it through godaddy

    Your doman nameservers have been changed, but it looks like your new nameservers aren’t properly configured for your new site.

    You might want to check with your host to make sure you have set your nameservers correctly and that the settings there are also correct.
