Blog Page Numbering

    At the bottom of each blog page, the navigation is: Older Posts—Newer Posts. I have tried several themes and it is the same thing. I believe we need “Page Numbers” as well so a person can to be able to go to any page without too much difficulty. The way it is now, if a person went back one page at a time for say…..twenty pages and returned at a later time to continue, now only would they not know where they were before but would have to wade through the pages one at a time. Please don’t tell me that this is a ‘theme’ problem because if it is, then WordPress needs to enforce the designers to so.

    I would like to give an example: I am a member of a certain art forum and wished to go through every page of thumbnails of art work. I could only go back three pages at a time and there were around 3200 pages. I made this suggestion to Ning and it was added within a day.

    Not a bad idea. One step further is auto-scrolling, like the one they have in Brizzly.com

    Monochrome has this feature.

    For the rest: When you go to the second page of your posts, the URL is http://aroundindiana.wordpress.com/page/2/ . You can go to any other page “without too much difficulty” by just replacing 2 with any other number and hitting return.

    @Panos
    That works to some extent, but the page number where a blogger’s first post is will change as the blogger adds new posts.
