blog page unresponsive, formatting for custom page templates not correct

  I’ve created several custom page templates for my blog articles. Whenever I got to plug in the page template, it is extremely slow and unresponsive and often asks me to leave the page. In addition, the formatting for my template is completely incorrect. Please help
