Blog pages.. sort of, refreshing themselves?
-
Well, not quite. And it only happens on actual blog pages – I.E. it’s not doing it here, but it is doing it on http://witchwinter.wordpress.com/
Nothing seems to reload, but it’s like what would happen if a shoutbox was on the page in an iframe and was set to automatically refresh, except that the page flashes white for a second. it’s quite annoying – It might be just me, but I’ll drive me made if it doesnt stop. It even says in the status bar that it’s loading.
I’m using

Ummm … that’s weird. It sounds like you need staff help to me. Support isn’t available until Monday during working hours when you can send in a ticket using this link http://wordpress.com/contact-support/

I wish more folks would leave a report like that. :)
As an aside, you do know that you can’t use your wp.com blog to sell stuff, right?
It’s not doing it in netscape either.
-
You know, I had that happen in Firefox a few times a couple of days ago. I thought it was a browser problem. It’s happened to me in the forums, too.
-
Oh. Oops. I’ll fix the selling things, thing. Merr. But the browser / whatever happenings still weird. O_o
If it’s still playing up by the time support opens, I will(and was) planning on opening a ticket :) Just thought it couldn’t possibly hurt to ask.
As for the report, well, thats just part of operas ‘about’ page :D

I dunno, some websites are set to refresh themselves, to keep RSS feeds up to date. As for the page flashing white…ehh.
-
Well yes, I’m well aware of that. But there is no reason for my blog to do thus and it was happening on all the pages I visited that were WP.com blogs, so it’s not an automatically refreshing thing. Especially since nothing actually reloaded.
-
some websites are set to refresh themselves,
Agreed but wp.com blogs aren’t though.
The only thing I see is the Snap previews. I usually turn them off here as they mess up the browser back button. I noticed that they’ve done yet another update on how that popup looks. I’m wondering of that has something to do with it.
edit: Something’s even stranger though. When I click on the link in the first post, I’m getting the wp-admin of the Global Dashboard. That’s even weirder….
-
Oh I set it to private while I fix the issue with the afformentioned ‘selling items is not allowed’ thing.. or something? I’d never read that before. but whatever.
It was happening on all wp.com blogs. Witch Witner isn’t my main, I just happened to have the link handy.
It’s not the snap previews, I don’t think – as it happens as soon as the pages load practically and that they were working fine the day before last. :|

Setting all dialog aside and dealing with the question it’s clear that only staff can make the technical changes required to deal with the “reloading” problem. This is because volunteers do not have backend access to blogs. Please send in a support ticket http://wordpress.com/contact-support/
No advertising is allowed on wordpress.com blogs at this time http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/
Wordpress.com blogs are non-commercial blogs that cannot be used to drive traffic to 3rd party sites
