Blog partner cannot log in.

Trying to log in to a blog. Doesn’t take the password. This is the same password since I set it up years ago. It just worked a few weeks ago but he had it saved in his computer and doesn’t know it. When he asks to have new password email sent, it doesn’t come. larryhancock

Sharing login information is NOT ever recommended anywhere online for security reasons. I assume this person has not been made an official user of the site. Is that correct or not? Please also confirm the URL of the site referred to.

Also we do recommend using separate accounts. Sites can have more than one user:

I am so sorry for the confusion. I think I lost my train of thought somewhere in the middle.
The blog is https://larryhancock.wordpress.com/
I am the admin and Larry Hancock is the blog author. I set up this his blog years ago and the password was saved on his computer. He still has the same email address but as of a few days ago, he cannot log in. The password I have written down does not work. WordPress does not send him a new password email no matter how many times we’ve requested it.
Any help is very appreciated.

@debraconway got it – what email address is he checking? Our forums will automatically hide it from everyone but staff if you write it normally.

@debraconway I’ve redacted your email as you are posting in a public forum and I am sure you don’t want spambots to harvest the address. As @supernovia mentioned, staff will still be able to see it regardless. Cheers!

@debraconway we don’t have an account with that email address, so that’s likely why he’s not getting reset emails there.
Can you have him check other addresses?

That is his only email and nothing is coming to my address. He has been able to post on that page for many years. I don’t understand what has happened that now he can’t log in. I am getting no email on logging in his account.

Not in this case, sorry. Also, the email address listed is definitely a different account, even if it is an old one.
What you can do, though, is create a new account using the correct email address, then as a site admin, remove the old user and transfer his posts to the new one.

This really makes no sense to me as he is also an Admin, has just posted to the Blog on October 8th.

@debraconway thanks. His email hasn’t changed for quite some time. If something happened to his password and he no longer has access to the old email, this can happen. If he can’t access the old email, hopefully my suggestion will work well instead.
