Blog photos taking a while to load

I have a blog with photo galleries in them. I notice as I scroll down my blog, the pictures toward the bottom take a while to load. I have my photos at 72dpi, so downsizing isn’t the issue. What can I do to make all my photos load faster? http://sweetandsmittenphoto.com/

Hi there – hmm, would you mind trying disabling Infinite Scroll, as described here:

Thank you for your help. I did disable the Infinite Scroll. I would like to show people “recent post” images instead of just text, so that they can visually see that there are more photos to look at. I also think that I am going to eventually upgrade to more space so that everything runs a little faster. Right now I am at the most basic package available.

Hi there – None of the upgrades will speed up the load time of your site. Unfortunately, it’s just that sites with a lot of images on the front page take some time to load. But decreasing the number of posts that load at one time helps – for me, the way you have your site now, each page load loads pretty much instantaneously.
Another option if you want to show more posts on your front page, but have it load faster, is to break your posts into excerpts using The More Tag. For example, you could have one large image and an excerpt of the content and then put your full gallery ‘below the jump’ so it doesn’t take time loading right on the front page.
