  So how do I get my blog icon to change from the standard issue icon? I’ve uploaded a picture for my Gravatar and posted the same picture on my profile. But when I check wordpress.com tags, my blog still shows up as the standard issue icon. How do I resolve this?

  That’s not your blog picture. That’s your avatar.

  To change your blog picture, you go to Settings->General and upload the picture there. It’s also called a Blavatar, to distinguish it from Avatar, which is what you’ve uploaded and applies to your personal account rather than to an individual blog.
