blog picture suddenly changed on FB

  I changed my blog picture a while back. The first thing I ran into was that, even though I’d changed my blog picture, and it was showing up fine when I was in WordPress, when I shared blog posts to my Facebook page, it continued to show the old photo for at least a couple of weeks. Then, suddenly, the new photo started appearing on FB posts.

  Today, I logged onto Facebook, and all of my WordPress posts are suddenly showing the old photo (a sunflower) again, but the new photo (a pink rose) is still showing on WordPress. I haven’t changed any settings.

  Hello there,
  We have no control over the images Facebook selects for display and no control over how frequently they flush their image caches. This is all we know:

  • Only the first five images uploaded to a post (direct inclusion/gallery/slideshow) will be sent to Facebook. The images size has to be at least 200 x 200 pixels.
  • To select which image will be used for things like Facebook Publicize, you can use a theme that supports featured images. If a featured image isn’t set or your theme doesn’t use featured images, then the code tries to pick the first image in the post or page. If no image is found, then the blavatar is used.
