Blog Pollution = Hypocrites?

I posted a piece on the Rose Parade, which I knew would get some attention. After my birthday but before New Year’s Eve I wanted to re-check it. I saw that it and an old post on media were getting hits, but when I tried to view, I suddenly got booted, then “Login” window, and couldn’t get back in; in a hurry, I just Googled my blog.

What did I see? Advertising. Ads –on my WordPress blog. “Unobtrusive” “tasteful” ads “from some non-profit company” that “…would do some good for charity of [my] choice”?
Hell NO. Google advertising. AdSense on my blog: Above –ABOVE content –under the headline.

When the subject of advertising on WP got max debate last summer, my comments were rejected; told: “not try to make money from my blog”
‘Don’t demean WP’ ‘Advertising is wrong’ ‘Love of writing shouldn’t be “devalued” with getting paid for it’ and “…if we change our position, we’ll give notice” blah blah blah. When I posted counter arguments to some of that poorly thought out “thinking”–playwrights, journalists, poets, novelists, screen writers, composers “shouldn’t” get paid for their work???–my comments weren’t enabled, although over 100 others’ were (it’s not good to disagree with Mother Nature or WP Admins?). Creative work “shouldn’t” get reward –but it’s OK for techies???

    [Insult deleted – Mark]

What the Hell do you people think you’re doing?

Where was the e-mail ASKING for my Permission to put ads on my blog?

Where was the ‘Heads Up’ e-mail Informing that you were DOING IT to my blog?

WHY did you do it to MY blog? All the blogs of Forum regulars, “Featured” and “Fastest Growing” NO doubt get more traffic than my blog, so if you want to make money off stealth advertising, why pick a blog with less readership –unless it’s some kind of ‘payback’ for arguing?

Which part of an ad for “bail bondsman” is “tasteful”?

    WHAT is definition of “unobtrusive”?

    After this and several other Forums, sites had numerous outrage and debate over b i t a c l e d o t com
ripping off WP bloggers’ content and slapping Google ads on it, I –ME, was the one who wrote protest to Google, then posted their reply HERE. Why is Google advertising now ‘acceptable’?

Before I post: I proofread, check each line break for sense, verify facts, search & verify accuracy of links, check links; re-write; got permission to join a special group so I could use their photos in the flickr badge. It takes a long time to post (it now takes even longer than a year ago, I’m loosing my eyesight)–so Why bother with all that? –Uhmmm, maybe cuz I GIVE A DAMN ABOUT WHAT THE BLOG SAYS, HOW IT LOOKS.

“Bail Bondsman” ad: slapped on a post in which I criticized a local TV station for poor quality news reporting. –On a blog that, within three months of starting, shot to PageRank: 5
hasn’t ever dropped lower. Why? Why wasn’t it slapped on a porn blog –some weirdo’s rock n’ roll/hip hop high-traffic crap blog?

One of my categories: MY OWN neighborhood –I’m known in my community –why embarrass me?

Now that WP Admin have made me look the fool, a jerk, impugned my credibility and polluted by blog –without even giving notice, here’s another one:

Do I now think of WP as a cool, looking out for each other community with “altruistic”
    “helpful” techies?

If you had nothing to do with POLLUTING my blog: I wish you a Good New Year.

    Lots of moderation here.

An insult to a fellow user was completely wrong and has been removed.

You were given in the first answer the correct address to read and comment. If you have a problem, send in feedback. This issue has been discussed here many many times. The result will not change by being horrible to others.

    On Ads

    Other responses have been removed.
I hope the other posters understand why.
