blog post aren't going to correct page

I’m new to WordPress so please bare with me. I started a blog themancavesports.wordpress.com I am using big brother theme for the blog. I made categories within the menu screen and you can see they are active. I set the parent and children categories accordingly. My problem is my blog entries are not going to the correct page. My tags and category are correct in the blog, so are my hyperlinks. Can someone help me out.

By default the front page of the blog is the post that displays all posts in your blog in reverse chronological order with the most recent post on top. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
Among the most common misconceptions is that bloggers fail to understand is
(1) there is only one page we can post to in any blog and
(2) the static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ they create do not automatically update.Please read this support doc as Pages and posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ are not the same.

Only the dynamic pages like Categories, Tags and Archives created by the software when we publish a post we that we have assigned Categories and Tags to will update automatically update with new posts. https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

Wow OK thank you. This is alot of info to take in. After reading the links carefully I’ve come to the conclusion that I have followed the directions well its just not getting the outcome I desire. Initially I made pages instead of categories thinking I could post like a normal site. I then made categories just as the lunks state. I have parent and children categories example … Basketball-NBA, NCAA MENS BBALL and Women’s BBall are the children. Maybe there is a step I am missing. But based on what I’ve done i should be able to see my most recent post on home then click on basketball to see the latest post for basketball right?
Another question is it the theme preventing this? Sorry if I sound redundant from the first post.

I visited your site and it appears as if you’ve set up your categories beautifully. I’m looking at posts that you’ve assigned to all your categories, and at first glance, things are working well.
Have you taught yourself (with the help of YouTube), how to create/publish to category pages, or do you still need any assistance at all.

Hello Robyn I actually made 2 menus, one named my menu and one named about. The about menu was correctly done I just had not made it my primary. After looking on YouTube for answers I saw someone switch in between menus so I tried it. It worked. Thank you for your assistance. I’m going to make another thread for more questions
