Blog post disappeared

I was writing, refining, updating, and improving a very lengthy blog post which was more like an award winning essay and due to something beyond my control the work has entirely vanished. This is the first time something so disastrous has happened. I’m not a fan of the constant change for the sake of change approach wordpress embraces and I suspect new features like the non-stop auto saving every other second has contributed to my dilemma. I tried searching for help online and found an older thread with a similar problem but restoring the post from its most recent perma save doesn’t appear to work either. The content shows up but it doesn’t load properly and everything starts freezing. The only way to restore the work is to reload it and save it properly again but the actual screen where the work should be remains blank. I’d appreciate any help or feedback because if all my hard work is gone forever I’m gonna be very sad.

Same thing happened to me last night. Two days of work on a post, and I was almost finished. It had saved multiple times over the last two days, and then suddenly the entire post is blank, except the title and the feature image. This makes me not trust WordPress right now. Let me know if you got an answer on this!
