Blog post disappeared

I had a blog post scheduled for this morning entitled something like “Gaming Communities, Virtue, and Sportsmanship.” It has since disappeared. I saw somewhere that scheduled posts are supposed to show up after someone visits your site, but I had a friend visit my site, and the post did not show up.
This is an unacceptable failure. I can’t have 1000 word posts just disappearing. If you can restore the post, please do so. I signed up for a WordPress.com domain so I wouldn’t have to worry so much about technical problems, but if this persists, I’ll have to ask for a refund.

I’m so sorry about this. I tried testing this out on my test blog and I wasn’t able to reproduce your issue. So I have reported this back to our team for further review.

Shoot, I don’t quite remember, but I’m pretty sure it was in the new one. It was supposed to publish at 8 AM this morning. Is there any record of it at all? It would have been late last night.

Ok thank you. I’m not currently seeing a record of it, so hopefully our team can take a further look and see.

Some additional info that might be of use: I added a new category, as well, and that is gone, too. I know I scheduled it, because I saw it say “Scheduled for 2/13/2015 at 8:00 AM.” The only thing is that I didn’t close the browser directly — after I was done, I simply shut down the computer, which would have shut down Chrome for me.

We’re still looking into this case, and my apologies for the trouble.
What was the new category called, and while the post was scheduled for February 13th, what was the last day the post was modified?

The new category was called something like “Community”. I had stayed up until about 4 in the morning trying to churn out the piece, so it was last modified on the 13th.

Thanks for that additional information. I’m hoping the category might give us so more ground to search for the missing post, and to test out the cause.
So far we’ve be doing database queries based on the title you gave and haven’t found anything under your account that’s close to match. We’re continuing extensive testing trying to replicate, as we take any loss of data very seriously.
I’m so sorry that we’ve been unable to find the post so far.

At this point, I’ve mostly rewritten the post (and frankly, it’s better this time around). I’ll be writing in Google Docs as a backup and using the WP editor to do final formatting touches. I’ll submit a new ticket if anything like this should happen again.

I see that you recently published a new post, but just wondering did any kind of restore a post feature pop up when you created your new post here?
