Blog post disappeared after I made it “sticky”

Hi all! I’m a freelance writer/editor with very basic WordPress capabilities, and I’m having some issues with a client’s site. She had an existing website to which she wanted to add a blog, so I did that by creating a new page and adding a query loop. (Perhaps this was the wrong way to go about it? It’s where the internet guides led me.) She wants her introductory post to be pinned to the top, so I made it “sticky”–see the attached screenshot for the settings I used.

Well, next thing I know, the post disappeared from the blog page. It is still there on the dashboard under Posts, and it still says it’s published, but when I go to that page (whether I’m logged in or logged out), the intro post isn’t there. What’s up with that? I have tried clearing the site cache and using a different browser, to no avail.

Update: I went to the dashboard, to settings, to reading, and changed the “Posts Page” to what I wanted it to be. That fixed the issue.
