Blog post disappeared when published
-
I’ve just written and posted a blog post, but it is not appearing on my site or in my list of blog posts (draft or published). Can it be recovered? I spent quite a long time on it and would hate to think it was all a waste.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
So frustrating! Fortunately, WordPress.com does a pretty good job of saving your drafts regularly, so try seeing if there’s a saved draft of the post you lost. Do that go to:
http://stepintorpgs.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=postIf this doesn’t work let me know and we’ll go from there.
Best,

Another thought: You might also try going to https://wordpress.com/post with the same browser and see if it offers to restore a post. If a restore button appears, that means a local copy was saved in your browser and you may be able to recover it.

Unfortunately I’ve already looked for the draft and can’t find it. It disappeared from that list when I published, but never actually got published.

Thanks for your help, Travis, I’ve now figured out the problem. Turns out it had been published, but dated over a year ago so it wasn’t showing up anywhere near the top of the list or in recent posts. I think I’ve fixed it now.

Hey there @stepintropgs,
That’s a new one for me, but totally makes sense! Glad you were able to figure it out.
Happy blogging!
Travis
