Blog Post dissapeared

    I spent a long time writing a blog post today, only to have it dissapear completely after pressing ‘publish’. Is there any way to retrieve this lost post?
    And yes, I looked at history and revisions. No sight of it anywhere.

    Hi there,

    Have you tried going through the list of published posts? If it has the wrong date, it may have been published, but it won’t showing up anywhere near the top of the list or in recent posts.

    Or you can try seeing if there’s a saved draft of the post you lost. Go to:
    https://beequity.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=post

    If that doesn’t work, you might also try going to https://wordpress.com/post with the same browser and see if it offers to restore a post. If a restore button appears, that means a local copy was saved in your browser and you may be able to recover it.

    I agree with Thabo. Hope your draft post shows up in the Draft section!

    I have another suggestion that won’t necessarily help you resolve this particular issue but it could help avoid potential repeats in the future.

    It’s worthwhile writing your draft posts in a local text file or something like Simplenote initially. You can then copy it across to the WordPress editor, finish it off, and publish it to your blog.

    It adds a step to your blogging process but it could be really helpful if something doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to in the future.
