Blog Post Feature Image on Mobile Too Big
-
Hi there,
Love the theme. Looks a million dollars and I would recommend it to anybody. However, the mobile version of the site does not properly scale the featured image of the Blog Posts. They are huuuuuge. They either load at around 5000px height on my iPhone 7Plus or at … maybe 15000px height, I don’t know. but the scale is ridiculous, and makes all images look horribly pixelated, plus user won’t scroll down what feels like 20 pages to finally read the blog.
Any chance there is an easy fix?
When I look at the mobile version in Developer Mode in Safari the problem does not show up at all for iPhone 7 Plus (or any other mobile). But I tested this live on a iPhone 5,6 and 7 and they all have the same scaling bug.
Thanks!

Hi there!
What’s the URL of the blog you need help with? I am asking cause I had a look at the http://www.theblowshow.wordpress.com on the iPhone 6s and couldn’t see any issue with any image. I noticed the issue you described on http://www.theblowshow.com, instead. If this is is the site you need help with, it is a self-hosted WordPress.org site (hosted by GoDaddy). These forums are for sites hosted on WordPress.com.
For information on the differences between the two, please check this support page here:For WordPress.org support, you can visit:

You can find all the documentation for WordPress.org (lessons, troubleshooting, etc.) here:

Hope this helps!

Hi Stef,
I get what you’re saying, but the site is really on http://www.theblowshow.wordpress.comhttp://www.theblowshow.com just uses domain forwarding to point to the wordpress site.
Is this something I need to pick up GoDaddy?
Thanks!

In this case, the domain forwarding could be the cause of the issue. You are using a framed redirect (I think GoDaddy called it Forwarding with Masking) and it usually creates all kinds of odd issues with the site (especially with mobile versions). You can try an unframed redirect or Forwarding without Masking to see if this solve the issue or another (certainly more secure) option is Domain Mapping. You will need a paid plan for it, but a Personal Plan will do it.
Also, if you need a Staff follow-up on this issue you can always add the modlook tag on the sidebar in the Tag section of this thread.
Cheers

Just wanted to confirm that stefbarz is spot on with his diagnosis and either of the two options he presented should fix the issue. Thanks for helping out, stefbarz!
