Blog Post Gone
-
We had a group project on which we needed to use wordpress. The final project was submitted last night and ‘published’. Woke up this morning and cannot find the blog post anywhere. Not in the trash, not in drafts, absolutely nowhere

The site linked to your username has not been active since 2014.
What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the site you refer to please?
I’m asking because we cannot accurately answer questions posted here until we have confirmed the URL referred to and verified the hosting.

Is this the missing posts https://txst512tequila.wordpress.com/2016/02/16/nueve-advertising-secondary-research-report/?
If not then what is the title? -
I have been working on this blog for the past two weeks. It was password protected and always came up as being labeled “Protected”. We had someone submit it last night, and we can not find it anywhere today.
-
No. We have several group posts under various names. Ares kept getting posted as the name “Protected”
-
Here’s another one https://txst512tequila.wordpress.com/2016/02/16/nueve-advertising-secondary-research-report/Is that it?
-
Unfortunately not. Anything with “Nueve Shots” “Clear River” and “Cover” are all other posts.

Staff are working on improving post and page revisions. If you cannot restore from your browser, or locate a revision, or restore from Trash then the content has been lost and cannot be recovered.
re: recovering a lost post or page
Please go to https://wordpress.com/post with the same browser and see if it offers to restore a post. If a restore button appears, that means a local copy was saved in your browser and you may be able to recover it.If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Pages > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needed.

To locate draft POSTS Dashboard > Posts > All Post > Drafts
https://txst512tequila.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=post
To locate draft PAGES Dashboard > Pages> All Pages > Drafts
https://txst512tequila.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=draft&post_type=page
I recommend:
1. Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > Add New and pages at Dashboard > Pages > Add New
If you have cookies enabled on your browser your preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself. You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/
2. Immediately after creating a post and entering a title click the save draft link. Thereafter, “click save draft” frequently.
3. Always allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
4. Never leave a post or page open for content creation or editing and walk away from it, or open another tab in the same blog and work on something else while it is still open. Save it properly and return to edit it later.
5. Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
If you were using the app you could report that here https://apps.wordpress.org/support/

I have tried all of these and have not been able to find anything. Is their anyway to recover the lost data through your servers? Surely there has to be a saved file or version of it somewhere in the system.
-
I keep having notification that says I have “drafts” and “items in trash” but everytime I click on them they say the folders are empty.
-
Is their anyway to recover the lost data through your servers?
No, I’m sorry but of you cannot restore from your browser, or locate a revision, or restore from Trash then the content has been lost and cannot be recovered.
-
How? We published the content last night and had several saved drafts. And now they just disappeared? I’m sorry I am not trying to be hostile in any way, we just have over 100 man hours put into this post and it all just went up in smoke.
-
I still have notifications that say I have drafts but when clicked it says it is empty ?
-
How can it not be recovered? There has to be a cached copy somehwere in wordpress’s files. Please I just need someone to check drafts, deleted files or whatever on the administration side.
-
I even have the link to url which it should be at.

Sorry to hear that you had to recreate your post!
I noticed that this site has many users set to the author role. If you were not the author of this post, that might explain why you are having trouble locating or recovering this page. In this situation, the original author of the post may be able to locate the post using the methods described by timethief.
Hopefully this won’t come up again in the future but wanted to mention that just in case!
