Blog post is not appearing under tags

Can someone tell me why my blog post isn’t showing up under the tags I posted under? My post shows up under my personal tags, but not under wordpress.com tags.

Please post the url for the blog post in question. And please specify which tags you are referring to.
Next please make sure your blog setting is not on “private”. If you have marked the option to keep your blog out of search engines then your posts will not appear on the tag pages.

Also be aware that every post on the tag pages is filed in order in accord with the time/datestamp at publication? This can mean that there are many posts that have been published after yours so you may have to look backwards at more than one page to find yours.

I’m afraid you will have to ask staff directly for an answer because I simply don’t have one. Support hours are 9 – 5 PM weekdays and you can use either the support link on your blog or this one below to report to them http://wordpress.com/contact-support/
In between staff do monitor forum threads so perhaps they will attend to this before Monday. -

I have heard that if you use too many tags on a post, the post won’t show on the tag pages. I haven’t tested it myself, though, so I can’t tell you what the number is, just that we had a complaint from a woman who used 24 on hers. She cut it down and maybe staff fixed something or maybe that was the issue but the problem was solved.

I recall that. And I also recall complaining myself about a blogger who was using 87 tags – the very same ones – on each and every post so I do hope that a limit was introduced. -
you know, I tried deleting my tags and it wouldn’t take. I tried twice. anyone know how to make that work? thanks.

I can see your post on the Global Tags pages just fine, though.
eta: due to caching, there’s a huge lag before tags disappear from the Tag Cloud widget.

yeah, that’s my personal tag which I see someone else is also using which is great. It’s just unfortunate that my post only posted on my personal tags and not the general tags.

this one, as everyone which starts with http://wordpress.com/tag/ is so called Global Tag, you can’t have ‘personal’ tags in your posts on the wordpress.com (unless you set up your blog so that it gets hidden from the search engines).
fwiw, I can see your post in other global tag pages.
