blog post link from home page not matching up with page section labeled 'posts'

  when on my home page, at the bottom widget that says ‘recent’ posts, there my only post ‘joy>happiness’ is linked. when I click on that link from the home page it brings me to my latest post that is in the correct format that I want (centered one column with a comment section on the bottom). But this post is not under the page section labeled ‘post’ at the top menu. When I do click on the section labeled ‘post’ on the top menu, it brings me to my latest blog post but not in the same/correct format as when I click on the blog post link from the home page. this format is to the right and does not include a comment section underneath. how can I make this page section labeled ‘posts’ (that has my latest blog posts) have the same format/same link as the one from the home page under ‘recent posts’ at the bottom?

  The item in the top menu labeled “Posts” links to the blog page, which displays the latest posts. You may add posts to a custom menu as described in the Add menu items section of the Custom Menus support page, and arrange such items in a submenu below a top-level item (or category) in the menu as described and demonstrated in the Organize your menu and add sub-menus / drop-down menus.

  When I do click on the section labeled ‘post’ on the top menu, it brings me to my latest blog post but not in the same/correct format as when I click on the blog post link from the home page.

  The blog page on Twenty Seventeen can not be displayed in the same format as single posts, and it will not include comments. This can’t be accomplished on the Twenty Seventeen theme.
