Blog post not showing up in reader tag-search
-
Hi,
I was wondering why my blog posts don’t show up in the reader when I search for tags like “Lego” or “Lego webcomic” or “webcomic” ?
I read this topic and followed the instructions there
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/my-posts-dont-show-up-in-the-reader?replies=12
But to no avail. Probably I’m overlooking something, but I have no idea what to do next.Does anybody know how to proceed from here? :o)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and that site is not hosted by WordPress.COM. It’s not part of our blogging community and the posts will not automatically appear in the WordPress.COM Reader.
-
Aha, I assumed that using wordpress made you part of the wordpress-community.
Okay, well no reader then. Thank you for the answer.
-
But what about free hosted WordPress.COM blogs? Cause i have one at http://www.trackdrops.com and I can’t figure out how someone can search for let’s say a band’s name like ‘young the giant’ on my blog if it’s already been tagged in a post.
-
Put the search widget in the sidebar. If you picked a blog layout with no sidebar, well then you are pretty much screwed. They are in my opinion unnavigable except by scrolling.
-
I have put the search widget but it only searches text that is in the actual title of each post…not tags or content.

haha done that too but that doesn’t help. Basically I want anyone to be able to search for specific tag and get all the posts related to it. So for example if all my friday posts have the tag ‘TGIF’ a person should be able to search for all TGIF posts without having to look for the tag and click on it.
-
It doesn’t work that way. Tags are not included in the WP.com search.
Of course the tag cloud does exactly what you want. Click on the tag in the tag cloud and get all the posts on your blog that use that tag. How hard is that?
-
It’s not hard but as both you and I know it always helps to make any website/blog more user friendly. No need for sarcasm my friend – positive advice is always appreciated.
-
Even when the answer is “no?”
My positive advice is to stop expecting things to work the way you want, and deal with the way they do work.
-
Yes, ‘No’ would probably have been preferable. And the reason these forums exist is to answer questions, when someone has a certain question, doubt, or expectation. I’m not quite sure why you’re even on here when obviously your main objective is to try and scold someone for asking questions.
-
Dude, I answered your question. I’ve answered it several times, in different ways. What you want to happen is not what happens. I’m not scolding you for asking questions. I’m scolding you for basically failing to deal with the fact the answer is no even if you want it to work a different way. It doesn’t work that way.
-
Okay I was just trying to make sure I understood correctly that there was no way around it with a widget, etc as I’m pretty new to WordPress. I’ve understood that now – appreciate your help and inputs.
