Blog post to persistent page
-
Occasionally I write about recipes. Sometimes they start life as a blog post and I discover that I want to make reference to it down the road and have article appear as a page. Is there an easy way to make a page from a post? In the past I’ve used copy and paste from the blog editor to the page editor.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Is there an easy way to make a page from a post? In the past I’ve used copy and paste from the blog editor to the page editor.
This is an excellent question. Because posts and pages are saved and named in two different ways here at WordPress.com, there isn’t a way to “transform” a post into page.
The good ol’ copy and paste method is really your best bet.
You may also consider keeping your content as a post, but either making it “sticky” to make it more visible to users, or even create a Category called “Recipes” and assign all your cooking posts to it.
Here is information about each of these options:

Thanks for the reply. I thought that was the case because the db tables and fields were different.
I may need to revisit the theme and custom menu. The idea was to organize material of lasting interest in pages and put more ephemeral material in the blog

Hi again!
Thanks for getting back to me. It sounds as if you may have a plan to move forward, but if I can help along the way, let me know.
Good luck and happy blogging!
