blog post widget won’t show whichever post is newest

    Good morning,

    I’ve been trying out the Assembler theme on my site and it’s worked well except for one thing. The Blog Post Widget (and the Blog Post Carousel Widget) both hide whichever post is newest. The Blog Posts added from patterns don’t seem to have this issue. The post (I’ve done a couple) is public, and can be seen from reader. Basically it only ever shows the second-newest post and onwards. If I add a new post, the currently-hidden one becomes visible. If I delete that new post, that now-visible one dissapears again.

    This is all stock wordpress tools/themes, I don’t think I’ve messed with anything, so I’m not sure how to fix this one. I’d appreciate any help you can provide.
