Blog posting not appearing in search engines

  My latest blog posting of more than a week ago (July 17) is still not showing up in Google searches – even when I search for it by the entire title. URL here: http://electroplague.com/2013/07/17/dar-churcher-colwood-bc/

  It’s not just that it is buried deep in search results – it isn’t there at all. This seems like a very long time. My other postings on my other WP.com blogs appear very quickly in search engines – within 24 hours.

  Could this be because I paid for the domain name upgrade to map “electroplague.com” to my underlying WP.com address? Does that upgrade make my site harder for search engines to locate? Or is it because I set up this blog to look like a website with a static front page and my actual blog listed on the menu bar across the top?

  I have not remapped my other WP.com blogs, and I have left them in their default appearance of being set-up like a blog not a website. New postings on those blogs show up just fine in search engines and very quickly. My older postings on my remapped electroplague blog will show up too – just not this most recent one even though it is now 9 days old.

  When you purchase a domain mapping upgrade it can take about 3 – 4 months time for Google to re-index the same content under the new URLs.

  Yes, it’s my experience that static pages are traffic killers.

  Thanks for the speedy reply! :) I purchased the domain name upgrade in April 2013 when I created the blog, so I guess I need to wait a bit more for Google to index it. Sorry to learn that static pages as homepages are traffic killers. Will probably not do that again (although in other respects it is useful for this particular site to present it that way).
