  I had a question about my blog posts. I am trying to get my most recent post on my home page and not all of them and then put the older ones in a seperate tab. Would you be able to help me?

  Hey there,

  When have selected Your Latest Post for your homepage display in the Homepage Settings of your Customizer your homepage will by default display all post in reverse chronological order (most recent to oldest).

  The default settings for the homepage is to display all posts with Infinite Scroll – the page will continue to load older post once reaching the bottom of page until there are no longer any left. If you disable Infinite Scroll you can now set a maximum number of posts that will display on your homepage within the Settings > Writing section of your My Sites dashboard. The Theme Enhancement section of this tab will look like this: http://prntscr.com/kn61kmand the Content types section will look like this: http://prntscr.com/kn611g by default.

  By toggling the Infinite Scroll tab to off, you will now be able set your Blog post section of Content Types to your desired number of posts to display on the homepage. By doing so the homepage will now display the most recent number posts of your choice.

  As for displaying the older posts on another page, this may require a little more work. There unfortunately doesn’t look to be a way to select posts to display starting from a certain date. There may be another way and I would be interested to hear if any others have any opinions but my suggestion would be to create a page and display your remaining posts on it using the Display Posts shortcode. You will likely have to select each of the remaining posts of your choice to display based on there given IDs.

  As an alternative to this, you could also create a Category Page and assign the specific category to each of the posts you wish to display on the page. For more information on Category Pages please review the following documents: https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/.
