Blog Posts Block Not Showing All Posts (Even With Less Than 100 Posts)

    Hello,

    I am using the Blog Posts Block on separate pages for each category of my blog. (I prefer the design of this block over just linking to the category pages that are created.)

    I’ve noticed an issue however. Even when having the setting to show the “Load More Posts” button turned on, not all posts from the category are shown. For example, on this page — https://inspiringpassionforjesus.com/archive/encouragement — I can select “Load More Posts” until it no longer shows the option, however, the final post is not the oldest post in this category.

    I am aware that this block only shows up to 100 posts, however, I don’t even have 100 posts in total on my entire blog, and definitely not in this category, so I know this is not the issue.

    Is this a bug or is there some way around this that I’m missing? I don’t want older but relevant posts being missed because of this.

    Hi there,

    You’re right.. that does seem to be missing a few posts. We’ll dig into this a bit and let you know what we find, but in the meantime, do you know whether this started recently? Was this page working for you before?

    Also, here’s a link to the category page for comparison. Looks like it’s missing the last 5.

    I just recently setup the page with the Blog Posts block so I’m not sure (prior to this was using the display-posts shortcode to show all of them, and it always would show all posts in a category without fail). I just happened to check it recently and noticed it stopped short. The total number of posts should be 23 for this category. I suspect my other pages for different categories are doing the same thing.

    We’ll look into this!

    One thing I recommend for now, keep the list up, but also link to the category page instead for more.

    Thanks! While heading to do the workaround for now, I ended up finding another temporary workaround for the time being:

    I originally had it listing 6 posts at a time with the “Load More Posts” button after. So I changed it to 30 in the Blog Posts Block on for all my (manually made) category pages (the most entries I have in one is 23, but just preparing for future posts until the issue is resolved). It could increase page load times, but probably will be okay unless my posts in each category exceed that eventually.

    Keep me posted on the final fix though and thank you again!
