Blog posts don't show on WordPress reader anymore
-
Hi,
I’m a self hosted blog https://thebrowneyedbookworm.com but had no issues with the reader so far until last week. My last blog post that showed up was on September 24th.
I did work on my page speed these last few days and have started using the SG Optimizer. Since the last blog post that showed up on the reader was on September 24th, I thought whatever I did happened around the 24th.
So I reset my blog with the help of SiteGround my host, to the 23rd.
I published two posts since then, and they still don’t show up.
Does anyone have an idea what I could have done wrong?
Wordpress is updated to it’s latest version.
Thank you,
Corina

My blog is self hosted with SiteGround, and so far I have had no issues with my posts being published on the reader. Until now.
https://thebrowneyedbookworm.com
It looks like that the last blog post from my blog on the reader is from September 24th.
The last few days, not sure if I started in on September 24th, but I’ve been trying to work on my page speed. Because of it I started using the SG Optimizer plugin. And optimized photos etc.
Since I don’t remember anymore all the things I changed since then, I talked to SiteGround and reset my blog to September 23rd in hopes that whatever I changed, will be reset to a time where my posts showed up on the reader.
After I reset the blog, I published two blog posts, one was a draft, and the other an empty sample post. Neither showed up on the reader.
Usually my posts show up within minutes.
I’m wondering
a) what I possible could have done to prevent my posts from showing up and
b) after resetting the blog, what is still preventing blog posts from showing up.Thank you in advance!
Corina

Hi Corina, right now I’m getting a “Too Many Redirects” error with that site. Did you change the address?
I can say if we can’t access the feed, we won’t be able to put anything in the reader, so that will need to be fixed.
If you had updated the URL at all, I’d recommend asking your host for help with these options:

Hi,
Thank you for getting back to me.
I don’t have changed my URL at all.
Do you have an idea what could make the “Too Many Redirects” if I haven’t changed anything in regards to my URL?
Anything you can point towards would be appreciated.

It looks like you added www to it. Can you use the document I sent earlier and ask your host for help?

I just talked to SiteGround, apparently I turned something on without realizing it would add the www to my URL.
They switched it off for me.
He said it should work now. Could you please check and see if what he did actually helped?
Thank you!

Just wanted to say thank you!!
It looks like the issue has been resolved. My blog posts are back on the wordpress reader!!

Hi, I was wondering if you could check my blog one more time, I seem to have problems again, and you were able to steer me into the right direction the last time.
I’m still working on my page speed, and might have accidentally changed a setting that prevents the reader from accessing my blog.
I would appreciate your help, since the last time I was able to fix it thanks to you.

Hi there,
For Jetpack-connected sites like yours its normal for there to be a delay before new posts appear in the Reader – it can sometimes take up to 24 hours.
That said, I tried manually refreshing your site’s feed, and it appears we are picking up your post recent post, but the Reader is skipping it for some reason. This could point to an issue with the cached copy of your site that Jetpack has on our end, so I’ve started a full sync for Jetpack.
Let’s give that 24 hours to complete. If the next post you publish also doesn’t show up in the Reader, reply to this thread to let us know and we can take another look.
