blog posts not included on search page
-
After posting a piece today, I went and searched for posts with my tags. To my surprise, I could not find my own post. Then, I remembered something that I read last night – that my blog might have been flagged for some reason. That would definitely explain a couple of things. Could anyone verify if that is true and what could be done to solve this curious case? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
blog posts not included on search page
Which search page? Where are you doing the tag search?
-
Hi there,
Your blog is not being blocked from tag searches, and are appearing for me just fine if I search some of your recently-used tags in the Reader, for example at https://wordpress.com/tag/creative-writing-exercises
To search for tags you need to click the Tags item in the menu on the left. The Search box at the top of the Reader searches post content based on relevance to the search term, and your site is not guaranteed to show up there for any particular term, just like it isn’t guaranteed to show up in Google results for any particular term.

Ok, now I see that searching for tags can only be done by adding tags on the left hand side and then searching for it. Got it!
Somehow I had hoped that if I typed a tag word in the search option, it would just magically list all the blogs (chronologically) containing that very tag.
Thank you so much for checking and explaining. Greatly appreciated. I shall do some more research on WP search options so I can find new people easier.
Maybe that could be a suggestion – have the search be more defined. Where one can type in a word/ phrase and pick if they want it to be looked for in titles, tags or inside content? If that exists already somewhere… well, like I say… I’m still learning.

The problem with that is that the two options use completely different processes. The tag search simply looks up our RSS feed for the specific tag which the search box functions more like a Google search, querying an index that is constantly changing and that contains all WordPress.com sites and a large number of self-hosted sites. So it would require one search box to use different programming based on the search term. Keeping the two separate is much simpler, and with a much smaller chance of conflicts that will just completely break the search feature.
But the Reader team is constantly working on improving the Search feature, so there will still be some changes to it going forward.
