Blog posts not showing in the desktop app
-
I don’t see the blog posts in the desktop app. I did see them in the past. The problem may have to do with my recent change of the domain name. It did occur after the change.

Hi, @ennoschroeder,
That sounds frustrating. The good news is I can see your site. At least it isn’t down. :-)
I did confirm that your site (ennoschroeder.eu) is hosted by Bluehost:

At Bluehost you are running your own copy of WordPress that you are responsible for maintaining. I would reach out to Bluehost for assistance.
If you need additional support, you may head to the awesome https://wordpress.org/support community for assistance.
The following guide outlines the differences between what WordPress.com here does and the installation that you have with WordPress.org:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/If you have a paid plan with WordPress.com (this support forum), then WordPress.com provides direct support and maintains the installation for you.
Kindly let me know if I have any of this information incorrect.
I hope this helps, and that you find a solution.

This relates to the desktop app, which is an Automattic product. Where do I get support for that app?
Everything is fine with the hosting and the live version of the site. The issue concerns the functioning of the WordPress desktop app. https://apps.wordpress.com/desktop/
The app was working fine but does not work anymore. It does not list the existing blog posts. Happy to send a screenshot. Other functions are working. I can list the pages, I can create a page, I can change settings. But I cannot access and edit existing blog posts.

Ah, gotcha. Thank you for your patience with me understanding.
I use the browser but let me try the app and see if I see the same thing before I tag staff.
-
Well, I can’t run it on my PC, so I’m going to go ahead and tag staff with the modlook tag for them to look at it for you. :)
-
@ennoschroeder a screenshot is never a bad idea. :)

Hi ennoschroeder,
I know you’ve mentioned using the desktop app but are you able to access the posts on ennoschroeder.eu in a browser? I just want to try and pinpoint exactly where the problem is and what you can/can’t do.
Once I know for sure, I can look into this for you.
Thanks!

The problem occurs on two different Windows computers, so I rule out a problem with my system.
When in the desktop app I click on “Blog Posts” in the left sidebar, no posts are shown. It looks as if the loading of the posts takes forever, or the app tries to load something which is not there. It does not happen with pages, only with blog posts.
-
I forgot: recently I changed the formatting of the permalinks in the settings of the WordPress dashboard. Is that somehow causing the problem?
-
Hi ennoschroeder,
Thanks for the extra information. Which version of the operating system and app are you using?
-
WordPress 2.6.0 release. I am currently at work where I use Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1. The problem occurs also on my laptop at home, where some version of Windows 10 is running.
-
Hi ennoschroeder,
The problem occurs also on my laptop at home
Okay, that’s interesting. If the issue occurs in the app as well as a browser, that suggests it could be related to your Jetpack connection. Can you try disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack to see if that helps?
Let me know how you get on.
-
??? The issue does NOT occur in the browser.
Anyways, I did what you said (disconnect then reconnect Jetpack) and it solved the problem on my PC at work. Thank you!
-
Hi ennoschroeder,
You’re welcome!
Sorry, I misunderstood what you mean’t there. But I’m glad reconnecting Jetpack has solved the problem :)
