Blog posts published to Facebook page do not show Facebook image thumbnail
-
I published blog posts via connection to a Facebook page, but the post on the Facebook page is not showing the featured image in the preview.
Post: https://mensblogs.blog/2024/01/24/messages-of-encouragement/
I have followed the guidelines in https://wordpress.com/support/facebook-image-thumbnail/ by resizing the image, making sure it is not over 8MB, and so on, however every time I ‘scrape’ the URL, the preview shows blank image.
Also there is a warning at the top of the scraping page ‘Provided og:image URL, https://saravanaca8677c530b.files.wordpress.com/2024/01/inspirational-words-collage3.jpg could not be processed as an image. It may be corrupted or may have an invalid format’
Not sure I get this warning because I can access the image just fine via the URL above, it is in an accepted format (JPEG), its size matches the requirements.
Please help to rectify this.

I have the same problem. I see there’s been no response. How do we get WordPress to address this?

Hi @saravanaca8677c530b when I check your post in the Facebook debugger it does appear to show your featured image in the preview that I see:

I also no longer see the
og:image URLwarning on that page, so it may be the case that Facebook finally re-scraped the post and updated the image on their end. Is this the case for you as well?
