Blog posts under a 'child page'

Oh thats great, thanks. I’ll have to try this out tonight. Can I ask how you were able to get your header to have that space at the top with the title of your site? Mine doesn’t allow me to.

I found this topic so useful! I’ve always had trouble reconciling the posts vs. pages issue with Sela. I think it’s because the demo displays a recipe as a static page; I was “tricked” (using that word very lightly, with humor) into thinking I could display my own recipes the same way. It makes more sense to use the blog posts to…maintain a blog…than to use pages, I always thought.
Thank you for this workaround that you provided. May I jump in and ask if this would only work on the home widgets page? Could you do the same thing on a grid layout page? For example, can I turn this static page into a grid layout and link to posts? (http://lifeissweetasapeach.com/recipes/).
Thanks again. Sorry for jumping in, for very useful info for us Sela people!

@mrsaubreyb, since you have Premium, we might be able to sort something out with custom CSS. Let me see if I can figure something out.

So, while it’s not exactly what you’re after, you could use a code like this:
[display-posts category="food-recipes" include_excerpt="true" image_size="thumbnail" wrapper="div"]to get a result like this:

(I’m better at computers than cooking :-p )You would need to add a featured image to every photo. I’d recommend making them all square (you can see why in the example above).
With Custom Design (part of Premium and Business upgrades), you could probably use CSS to arrange them in a grid, too. If you’d like help with that, go ahead and add square images and what not, then post in our CSS forums here:

You bet. By the way, I meant you should add a featured photo to every post :) It came out wrong, but hopefully that makes more sense.
Happy Holidays!
