Blog Privacy not Working
-
When creating this blog, I selected the option
“I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors “
But I found that if I type “lcfjuniours” into google, it comes up straight away !
have I misunderstood something ?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
lojunoirs.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this blog.
And I can’t find “lcfjuniours” except here in the forum with a Google Search – be aware that if someone posts a link to your site Google will save the link from the other site.
Without the URL of the real blog in question beginning with http we can offer no more help.

Hi. Blocking search engines is not instantaneous, and it does not prevent your posts on public forums from appearing, I’m afraid.

Hi
I did make a first blog & deleted it, but this one:
http://lcfjuniors.wordpress.com
has been around for a month ot two now.
My only concern is I’d like not to have too many people looking at it who don’t know about it through our cricket club – in case their intentions aren’t good.
I thought that with the privacy setting chosen, it would be invisible to Google. . .
CheersNigel – kids cricket coach & amateur author of the blog . . .

Aearch engines can only display indexed data that you provide. It can take 3 – 6 months or even longer for Google to clear their cache and only then will the indexed data be removed form the SERPs )search engine page results). If you keep giving out the URL to others and they post it on their blogs or refer to it anywhere on the internet then it’s available for search engine indexing. If others link to your blog then the URL is available to search engines for indexing.

This shows your bog as not being indexed by Google and search engines blocked: http://ismyblogworking.com/lcfjuniors.wordpress.com
As noted above keeping even the name of a blog out of Google is very tough, but the only references to your site should be as the result of other people posting a link to your site when they write something on the web.
Short of having your blog Private and requiring everyone to have an account here to read the blog keeping things totally hidden is somewhat difficult.
Even searching on your blog Tag Line did not show any results on Google. So Google does not know much about your blog.

OK – Now I think I understand – so somehow the link is in Google even though it can’t look into the site.
So I think this issue is closed – thanks for your help

lcfjuniors: If you haven’t changed the privacy settings away from “Private”, I think you should know that I can easily access your whole site.

@ewert7diaspora
This thread is “resolved”. I sure hope you are going to become so focused on your blog that you will not be posting to “resolved” threads in future. No response required. -
He set his blog to be visible to people but not search engines, so it’s not that surprising that it’s visible to people. He knows what he’s doing.
