Do you know how many times can I promote my blog on the showcase section?

There is no limitation to the number of times you can post in the Showcase forum. You may post to the thread you have already started or you may post a new thread. If you wish to continue posting to the thread you started you can locate it by clicking on “member” under your username. That link will take you to your Profile Page where you can locate every post you have ever made to the forum.

However, posting to the Showcase is not the most effective way of promoting your blog either in the wordpress.com community or beyond it. Within the wordpress.com community locating blogs with similar subject matter can be done by categories and tags on the global tag pages http://en.wordpress.com/tags/ You can then visit the blogs you locate and leave meaningful comments on posts which will lead to building relationships with like minded bloggers.

Beyond wordpress.com this post sets out basic blog promotion strategies http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2009/11/07/blog-promotion-basics/
This post sets out in detail how to establish a flow of organic (unpaid) traffic to your blog and how to increase it. The steps within the post are linked to tutorials http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2009/01/15/twenty-five-steps-to-increase-blog-traffic/

If you need more help click by username as it is atteched to my blog which is onecoolsite: blogging tips, tools, tutorials, and SEO.

Also note this entry in the wordpress.com support documentation http://support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/

In the support documentation on the front page you will find a searchbox http://support.wordpress.com/ I recommend bookmarking it so you can use it to look for answers to your questions.

In the support forum on the front page you will also find a search box you can use to locate answers as well. You will find that there are many threads on blog promotion and increasing traffic and getting people to read your blog. I believe they are all covered in the two posts on my blog that I linked to above.

Not at wordpress.COM, and not in wordpress.ORG self-hosted software either unless you add one of the SEO plugins. Of course plugins are not allowed here at wordpress.COM.

WordPress.COM is one of the best platforms around when it comes to SEO, and it is all done for you. All you have to do is blog and make sure you use appropriate categories and tags, and put good descriptive titles on your posts. Keep the total number of tags and categories under 12 total (tags + categories) though so that you don’t run the risk of having your posts excluded from the global tags pages.

By the way, it IS possible to be Bozo’d from threads in any forum here. I typically post up to six links a day in the thread specifically for doing that, and it happens to me ALL THE TIME!

If you post and then go to the main page for that forum and you don’t see your name as the last poster in that thread, it’s probably this issue showing up and you need to contact staff.

This “forum bug” thing has happened to me 8 times and each time I have contacted Staff and they rectified the problem.

It happens to me daily, so I just stopped posting there altogether.
