Blog questions
-
Hi
I have very recently launched and gone online with my blog indianmumsabroad.com. It has the blossom theme. My questions are as follows:
I want the landing page when you type the above url to be the homepage. But, somehow in the settings, ‘mums’ – one of my category pages (as you will see on the menu) is showing as my homepage. Why is that? I want the homepage to be the homepage if that makes sense.
In one of your excellent webinars, it talks about the ‘post carousel’ option – but I don’t seem to get that option on my site. Does this have anything to do with the theme? How can I get that option please – It looks amazing.
Is it possible to change the size of the huge pics that come on the home page? I mean I still want to keep the same layout- but if you see the post ’10 things you miss about India’ on the homepage, the image is very big and looks stretched. Can I make it a bit smaller please?
On the homepage, can I change or decide which posts go in the smaller right side columns – and which one is shown on the left hand side display? I understand that it keeps changing as I post new ones – but just wondering if that can be controlled? I tried to do the ‘static’ option under your ‘homepage layout’ in the ‘customise’ section but it does not ask me which posts I want to display where…please advise.
If you click on that post ’10 things you miss…’ – and scroll down the second pic (it has the first bullet point listed next to it) – – you will see that block looks weird as I would like to wrap the text around the image. How can I easily wrap the text around it with all my images? I am having to work around it a lot and it is consuming a lot of my time. If you look at the first image on this site here (egg and chick image): https://indianmumsincanberra.wordpress.com/2017/11/17/the-big-school-debate-a-public-school-or-a-private-school-which-is-better-for-your-child/- that is how I want the text adjusting itself around the image. How can I do that?
When you open any post – just under the title – it shows the byline or the author name. Currently it says ‘ by Indian Mums Abroad’. I want to change the author name to my name ‘By Nora Jain’. How can I make this change for all my posts please?
The title/heading for the post – does that allow any formatting? For eg. in my post ‘Top 10 tips for busy mums to strive thrive’. How can use the ‘strikethrough’ option to strike out “strive” in the title? You offer that option in all other places – such as the body of the post, etc.. How can I use that option in the Title of the post?
Which is the widget/plugin I can use (within your theme) that allows people to leave comments below the post if they want? At the moment it does not display any such option. There is on the top of every post – is that the only one possible? I want it at the bottom of the post as well please.
Below every post, the related or most recent posts are displayed. I remember seeing the option somewhere to also have a small thumbnail sized pic along with the title (I mean the same image as on the homepage of the respective blog post)
Thanks again

If your blog is indianmumsabroad.com then you are using Bluehost according to this

If your blog is https://indianmumsincanberra.wordpress.com then that site is using wordpress.com and this is the correct forum to get help
