Hello, you can delete your site in your Settings page here: https://wordpress.com/settings/general/talesofthepanam.wordpress.com/. Note that Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com).
Scroll down at the button and select Delete Site. On the next page, click Delete Site again. On the third page, enter the address of your site in the text field and click Delete this Site.
Here’s the support page on deleting a site:

@elzrjose
I deleted by domain as well as all media, but a PDF file I uploaded to my wordpress is still indexed by Google and apparently still live. I deleted by domain only an hour or two ago.
How long of a grace period should I give the “deletion” process?
Any idea why this file is still showing even though the file has been deleted permanently from my wordpress and my wordpress domain has been deleted as well?
Any input would be greatly appreciated. -

Hello @yaelbaifus,
How long of a grace period should I give the “deletion” process?
Currently, the direct web addresses to the files might continue to work for up to a few days, as they are cached.
Any idea why this file is still showing even though the file has been deleted permanently from my wordpress and my wordpress domain has been deleted as well?
Files including images and other media that you delete from WordPress.com may still be cached by search engines. In those cases, you should contact the search engine directly to find out how to remove the images from their servers.

Also, you need to wait until your site doesn’t show up anymore in the search engines. Since WordPress.com has no control over Google, technically there’s nothing we can do. But YOU may request a Google remove a website from their index through the website removal request tool here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals
