blog reported as mature: feedback from staff and marked on blog?
-
My blog was reported as mature yesterday. Will I get feedback from the staff who review the report? How long will it take for them to review, more or less? Also, will I be able to see anywhere on my blog that is now marked as mature content and is therefore excluded from public viewing? Thank you for your help / feedback.

No, you won’t get feedback. I can confirm your blog is marked mature, because your name no longer links to the blog in the forums.
You are Not, contrary to rumour, excluded from public viewing. You are excluded from the tag pages, but that’s it. Otherwise, you are as visible as any other blog on the internet.
If you want to dispute this with staff (and a blog about erotica doesn’t have a chance: it is by definition for mature audiences) you may email them at support at wordpress dot com.

Thanks raincoaster. I know I sound like a whiny girl but it is so unfair that this has happened to me, and others with the same tags (and worse) have way more explicit content and images than my blog, yet theirs still show / have not been removed. And I am not going to report them, as I believe if people want to search on those tags, they have a right to see what is available. This only happened to me because I reported a problem with my posts not showing under the relevant Topics. Anyway, I guess all I can do now is vote with my feet.

It won’t do you any good. This is what I said; the only penalty is you don’t show in the reader and your name doesn’t link to your blog in WP.com. You have more googlejuice if you stay here than if you leave. If you leave you don’t have any chance of ever showing in the reader.

I understand what you are saying, and bear with me if you have to repeat yourself, I am not very savvy technically speaking (no kidding), but do you have any ideas for me as to how I can increase my traffic now that I am not showing in the Reader?
-
The reader is not a great traffic source anyway, unless you’re looking for a bunch of people who spam Like your posts so you’ll go check theirs out. I wouldn’t sweat it if I were you. Your RSS feed still works, so be sure to put that in the sidebar.
Other than that, all the usual tips and tricks apply. Timethief has a great roundup of them; a simple forum search for “More hits” etc should bring up more tips than you know what to do with.

Thanks, really appreciate your time and effort in giving me feedback – restored a bit of my faith in the site. One very last question and then I will close this: you mentioned above “your name doesn’t link to your blog in WP.com” – what does that mean? If you can explain in basic, layman terms?
-
If you look at your name spinningtales151 next to your picture here in this thread you will see that it is blcak and can’t be clicked on. That is what raincoaster means. Usually the name will be a blue link that when clicked on will lead to your blog. Your name is unclickable to prevent people from unwittingly seeing content that is mature.
