Blog says it is 'protected' when it isn't

  When I try to post a simple link to my blog on Facebook, a message appears that my blog – inkywellsworth – is marked ‘protected’ by me and can only be accessed through a special log-in. I have checked all the settings as instructed by WordPress Help and they are all set to allow viewing by anybody. I used to post links all the time with no problem, don’t know what has changed. Thanks.

  I am not having an issue viewing your site. Please try again to see if there is still an issue.

  If there is still an issue, then this sounds like an issue with your browser. Have you tried using a different browser?

  Please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

  If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

  If it is, please do these two things:

  1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

  2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

  Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

  Hi, I did use Chrome, Firefox, and IE with the same result. I also cleared all cache and cookies. The blog is accessible to other viewers like you, but I cannot post a link to the blog in Facebook without getting the message “This Blog is Protected and requires a password.” Since the blog is not in protected mode, I’m not sure why this message is popping up / why others can’t link to it.

  Thanks both for the suggestions. I had partial success using the debugger, and also having a friend share my blog link on Facebook. Facebook still won’t show my “featured image” and it still won’t show the actual title of my current post, but at least it isn’t identifying as “protected” any more. Thanks again.
