Blog showing up as protected but it is not protected

  Hello:

  When I post the home page URL to Facebook, I get the message that the blog is protected. http://yogi100.wordpress.com/

  However, when I use other URLs that is not the case. The following URLs all display propery:
  http://yogi100.wordpress.com/about/
  http://yogi100.wordpress.com/contact/
  http://yogi100.wordpress.com/participants

  I believe it may have something to do with making the home page static from http://yogi100.wordpress.com/participants to http://yogi100.wordpress.com. But the blog is not protected and should be open to be viewed and searched on Google.

  This may sound ridiculous but what you need to do is to get a Facebook friend to share one of your posts.

  Actually, the individual posts appear to work fine as well. It’s just the homepage that shows as protected.

  Have you had a Facebook friend share the site URL?

  Yes. And it worked. Albeit, there were issues with the picture showing up on their pages, which is why I started digging around a bit more.

  If that doesn’t work then flushing your Facebook cache may do the trick.

  Try flushing your FB cache but disconnect Publicze from FB first http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/

  Then try the full reconnect procedure again detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-facebook including step 3 (removing the FB app), which is probably the most important step.

  I’m sorry but we cannot help with this image issue. We have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
