  …and one of the same issues, alas !

  

  As you see, this date problem is turning up on Comments: I hadn’t realized that’s where it was, before.

  It looks as if it should be date and TIME, eh ?

  Any ideas, Chief …?

  Could you go to Settings > General from the main WordPress menu and let me know what you have selected as the active date and time formats?

  It looks like you might have used a custom date format in your time format box which is making things go a little strange. If you have j-M-y in your custom time format box try picking one of the preset examples, clicking Save Changes at the bottom of the screen and refreshing a page with comments on to see if it made a difference.

  Christ. I had entirely forgotten having a lengthy exchange with … I forget whom, there, regarding my wish to have all dates show up in a custom format (18-Sep-14), with ensuing attempts to achieve this. Which failed.
