Blog Simple: background color change
-
I need to be able to pick up code for the rest of the square comprising the top ‘buttons’ on each post listed, thus:
http://snag.gy/UzIT5.jpg
and also the comments number circle’s background, thus:
http://snag.gy/TNkJn.jpg
so as to be able to meld both images entirely into the changed b.g. color.
Can someone help with this, please …?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Those sections can’t be changed with CSS alone as they’re all images. Here are the image URLs.

http://s0.wp.com/wp-content/themes/premium/blog-simple/images/ico-pencil-neg.pngIf you upload new images to your media library you can replace them (in order) with the following code:
.hentry-top { background-image:url("SEMICIRCLE_IMAGE_URL"); } .entry-header .comments-link a { background-image:url("COMMENT_BUBBLE_IMAGE_URL"); } .home-link a { background-image:url("BARCODE_IMAGE_URL"); } .top-page .main-navigation > div > ul > li.current-menu-item > a:before, .top-page .main-navigation > div > ul > li.current_page_item > a:before { background-image:url("PENCIL_IMAGE_URL"); } -
Thank you very much, Luke. I hadn’t thought you’d still be there, as you seem to’ve been around all bloody day ! Lord knows what time it is wherever you are. [grin]
I really appreciate this !!! -
Having now staggered out of bed, fed the cat and had my first coffee of the day, am able to ask the following:
from where do the files come ?
Do I enter the URL and find a little image in Chrome, and save it ?
If that’s the case, how come the first one looks like this :
http://snag.gy/blPls.jpg
? -
The files have transparent sections so they look a little weird. My advice if you know exactly what colours you want is to re-create them with solid colours and no transparency. You should keep them the same sizes as the originals though!

No: hang on … I can’t actually recreate them in the right colours – I could only do that if I had the originals.
To copy+save a file from Chrome gives me something I can’t do ANYTHING with unless I have a sophisticated image-editing program …
