Blog Simple – Footer not appearing

    Hi. I love Blog Simple but I’m having a problem with the footer/widget areas. The side bar displays with no issues, but the footer does not appear. I have added my tag cloud to a footer area via Appearance/Widgets, and have tried to add widgets via Customise, but have had no luck. I primarily want my social media icons to display. I am using a Static front page. My tech abilities are reasonably basic, though I haven’t had too many problems getting my site set up (http://wordsmithing.com.au/). Hope you can help. Best, Michelle

    Hi Michelle! This doesn’t look like a WordPress.com site. Could you clarify where you purchased Blog Simple to use on this site and we can take it from there? For example, if you purchased in on Creative Market, you can get help via their support portal. Thanks!

    To get you started, there is a syntax error in your footer.php file, which I can see when viewing the browser’s source:

    Parse error
    : syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /websites/wo/wordsmithing.com.au/wp-content/themes/Blog-Simple/footer.php
    on line 34

    If you re-upload a fresh copy of the theme, that should fix the issue.
