2. I’m an old and nontech guy who posts simply by pasting Word docs. You’ve changed and I don’t have any idea how to post and so have not posted for several months. How can I get basic training so I can get back to posting. It’s all I have in my retirement! -

Those images are coming from the Recent Comments widget on your site. It appears that your theme doesn’t respect the avatar size settings for that widget any more, so the image shows at full size instead of the size specified in the widget.
The Chateaux theme you’re using was retired a few years ago, so it is no longer being maintained. That can cause stuff like this to start happening. Unfortunately, it’s also not something we’ll be able to fix, so your options in this case are to switch to a newer, current theme, or else to change the settings for your Recent Comments widget to no longer show avatars:

For the most part, you can just write in the new block editor the same as you did in the classic editor. If you mostly write text, you don’t need to worry about selecting a specific block first. Just press Enter to go to a new line, and continue writing. In most cases the editor should pick the correct block for you automatically.
