blog slideshow says 'need java script' on email to followers with no link
-
My blog is http://trixspix.com. I created a slide show using the library and gallery for my latest blog. The problem with the slide show seems to be when my blog followers receive the email with the blog, some seem to see the slide show, and some say there is a message that says ‘needs java script’ – with no link. I went back to the blog – to edit text and clicked on the slide show. Then went to the gallery where I created the slide show and this is the address of that gallery:

If I link the box with the slideshow to this address- do you know if the slideshow pix open automatically for everyone? I’m afraid to mess my blog up by adding this link. What is the address of the url link I need to add so that whoever opens the blog will be see the slideshow on the page? And why is there a message that says needs java script? Thanks.

I added the short link
(to see slideshow- click – http://wp.me/p1t7ls-me)
above the slideshow- but how do I inform followers who already received the email about the blog and WHY does the slide show need a link to be seen? I followed everything that was described in how to insert a slide show. Why does published blog announcement say that ‘this slideshow requires javascript?’ -
Hi there,
Some browsers and email clients, in an effort to maximize their security, limit the sites which can run javascript. Your Gallery and the carousel which runs when you click on an image and the entire stream of images goes by one after another, runs on javascript.
But this is not necessarily a bad thing. A good portion of WordPress.com has little bits of javascript in it. Things like the “Like” button and the “post a comment” section, not to mention several parts of the back end interface.
Your users just may not be able to view the gallery immediately via their email. They need to click on the link to go to your site to view it. If they still cannot view it on the site, they will have to enable javascript in order to view the actual slideshow on your page. They should still be able to view the individual images however.
