Blog Slow..ing Down

  Our blog started slowing down a few days ago.
  The loads are really slow now, and readership has slumped.
  It was first noted by a viewer.
  Any ideas regarding cause and fixation?

  Your blog has major issues. According to the W3C validator, it has 146 errors and 12 warnings, and it is likely to take a bit of work to get it straightened out.

  Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.”

  Now, starting with your latest post, open each post in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “update post.” Do that with each post that displays on your main page at a minimum. I would probably suggest going back even further though.

  Also, your site is throwing a big error on the platial mapkit. Try removing that widget from your sidebar.

  I performed all three manuvers with increased speed.
  What else can, must, I do for improvement?’

  For example, do I have too many tags on some posts?

  How can I check the W3C validator myself, to avoid bothering you, and
  others in the future?

  This was my first support query and I am very grateful for your assistance.
  Any other thoughts to make the blog better, faster, are appreciated.
