blog space memory

    I have a free version blog which entitles me to 3gb of memory. I reached my max and recently deleted off ~ 30 of my old posts to make more room. I trashed them, and emptied the trash. They no longer show up anywhere on my blog, but the blog still indicates I have no free space. What is the problem and how do I fix it to make sure my deleted posts reduce the memory space on my blog so I can write new ones? Thank you.
