Blog stat views to deleted post?
-
I have been searching the forums and can’t find an answer:
In my blog stats, I keep getting lots views to an apparent deleted post: http://sparklingandsweet.com/?p=2147483647. I can’t figure out how to get rid of it completely (already emptied trash) and also the link on the deleted post doesn’t allow it to go back to the homepage.
Help!?

Is it possible that your post is still linked to elsewhere?
If so, that’s where the views are coming from. They should eventually die down.

It should die down, I’d give it a week.
More than likely, it’s just subscribers trying to read it for the first time.
-
Thanks- it has been like this for a couple of weeks..
Anyway I can edit the 404 to actually redirect to my homepage with the “return to homepage” link? It doesn’t seem to be working
-
That could be the problem. If the page is redirecting, it’s not issuing a true 404 error to remove it from search engines and other such things.
-
more views on the deleted post than on my regular ones :( desperate now to figure this out!
-
-
it doesn’t redirect when you click on ‘return to the homepage’ it just stays on the not found page. http://sparklingandsweet.com/?p=2147483647
Still getting tons of views :(
-
It’s going to take time for those to disappear from search engines. As long as it’s 404ing, the search engines should remove the listing eventually, and folks will stop finding them.
-
is it possible with the way my blog is set up, that it does that everytime clicks on a link to a specific post on the homepage?
-
I’m looking into this problem to see if we can get it fixed. Could you please tell me if you have imported from Tumblr in the past at all?
-
-
Okay, the Tumblr import is causing a problem. It’s a known issue and we are working toward a fix. I will need to get some help to update your blog manually in the mean time. Hopefully we’ll be able to update it by the end of the week.

Blog post IDs for http://sparklingandsweet.com/ have been fixed, and this should fix stats for the blog from this point forward. Thanks again for your patience!
